The school situated in Toplița center educates a number of 386 Romanian pupils, while its structure from Moglanești Street educates a number of almost 100 pupils entirely of Gypsy ethnicity.

We offer courses in the traditional educational system, as well as in the educational alternative, Step by Step – primary level pupils; we also have visual arts classes (musical instruments and drawing). The school has been functioning since 1936 and over the time it has continuously been renewed. All our classrooms are equipped with white boards and projectors. Apart from the normal subjects classes we also have a lab for psychopedagogical guidance, a classroom for the visual arts class, a 100 seats auditorium and a library containing over 16.000 volumes of books.

Our children are very interested in school and they get involved in all sort of activities organized by teachers. Our school tries to promote a constant process of identifying and developing the qualities and abilities of each student, so that they would be able to choose the most suitable future and adapt to a democratic society; Main activities and results, in our school: average annual school performance scores: very good – constant; very good achievements in competitions in various fields (Sport, English, Romanian, Science) innovative and motivating approaches used by teachers in the educational process very good interaction and constant partnerships with the Sports Facilities from Toplita, Municipality of Toplița, the Library, the County Inspectorate of Education, cultural NGOs including students’ parents in school’s initiatives and joint activities.

Our school has been constantly trying to emphasize the important role of the environment in humans’ lives. Therefore, besides the regular subject related classes, every class teacher has the task of organizing periodical curricular and extracurricular activities designed for making the students/teachers/community more responsible and caring for the environment that surrounds us.

For example, we actively involve our students in: planting trees (reforestation), seeding/gardening and appreciating the importance of natural vegetables, greening and cleaning the surroundings (depolluting), reusing and recycling old or once used materials (paper, plastic, iron etc.). We have just recently had a competition organized in school dedicated to inventions made out of reused materials.
